Barcelona are ready to allow nine players to leave this summer – including Manchester City target Frenkie de Jong and free-sign Memphis Depay – as Xavi looks to overhaul his side in order to compete for the La Liga title once again.

Barcelona are said to be preparing to put up nine players for sale, including Frenkie de Jong this summer as Xavi looks to rebuild his squad after a disappointing season.

President Xavi was very clear that they needed to bring in reinforcements to challenge Real Madrid for the La Liga title and compete in the Champions League once again.

However, the Catalan giants will have to sell players in order to bring in new signings – so a whole slate of stars will be ready to take possession.

A report in Marca suggests that Neto, Clement Lenglet, Sergino Dest, Oscar Mingueza, Samuel Umtiti, Frenkie de Jong, Riqui Puig, Memphis Depay and Martin Braithwaite will be available this summer.

Barcelona have reportedly already set an asking price of £58m for Dutch midfielder De Jong with both Manchester City and Manchester United monitoring the situation.

De Jong has played a key role in the Barcelona squad this season, making 42 appearances in all competitions – with four goals and five assists.

But it is now believed that he can be transferred in order for Xavi to continue building his team.

Forward Depay is said to be attracting interest from Tottenham and Napoli after just one year in Spain.

The 28-year-old arrived at the Nou Camp last summer from Lyon on a free transfer as the other seven prepare to attract the interest of some of Europe’s elite clubs and help liquidate the wage bill for newcomers.

This may not be the end of the filter either With Dani Alves and Ousmane Dembele out of their contract in the summer and they haven’t signed new deals yet.

Luuk de Jong and Adama Traore are currently on loan to Barcelona only and are expected to return to their parents’ clubs unless a deal is arranged for the duo to join on a permanent basis.

Philippe Coutinho, Trincao and Miralem Pjanic are now on loan to Aston Villa, Wolves and Besiktas respectively and will return to Xavi’s squad this summer – although the trio could also continue.

Antoine Griezmann is another player who is currently out on loan from rivals Atlético Madrid, but he has not yet left on the loan deal, which he is expected to fulfill.

Barcelona have already begun working on new deals, after reportedly agreeing deals with both AC Milan midfielder Frank Kessie and Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen.

They have also been closely linked with Chelsea duo Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso this summer along with Leeds winger Ravenha and Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski among others.
