LA Kings 4, Edmonton Oilers 0

The Los Angeles Kings defeated the Edmonton Oilers 4-0 in Game 4 of their series on Sunday night. The series now moves to Edmonton, tied 2-2.

Blake Lizout opened the score 8:03 mark of the first half. The play is set up with a beautiful brief by Phillip Danault in front of Edmonton’s goal for what was essentially a flick.

Exactly six minutes later, Troy Stitcher fired a blast from the point Oilers defender Duncan Keith redirected and pasted Mike Smith to put the Kings 2-0 up.

The goal also served as the first Los Angeles Kings defensive player to score a goal in the series.

Vintage Jonathan Quick made another look, making some amazing saves to keep Edmonton off the board, including one in the middle of the frame. Sunday was the 36-year-old’s 10th close to the playoffs.

Karl Grundstrom added an insurance goal in the third period. The target was reviewed as to whether Grundstrom had pushed the disc into the net with his hands after the Darnell Nurse stumbled, but the on-ice call was upheld.

Grundstrom was adding the dagger with an empty net with just over 90 seconds in.
