The stories about Georgia’s best prospect and the safety of Nation #1 are very good

Want to attack every day with the latest Georgia Football Recruitment information? This is Intel. This actor has the latest with 5-star Caleb Downs. He ranks as the best player in the country in his position and the number 11 overall for 2023 in the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

================================================== == =======

Caleb Downs isn’t just the most college-ready security prospect in the country. He could also be the most prepared college student for life in America.

facts? Opinion? Yeah. But it’s one that underlies a lot of discoveries.

Safety No. 1 in the nation claims a deep Christian faith.

“I’m trying to be a great Christian,” he said. “I am the Son of God. This is a big thing for me. Knowing that whatever happens or whatever accomplishments I may achieve, it is all through him.”

Downs is not a superhero. But it could be.

He’s not a class mind, but he can average 3.9 points.

The All-American Bowl selection is still more fragile after he recently received a “B” degree in language arts. He will major in business administration or sociology. The latter may be the leader there.

Star 5 also knows enough pop culture and what’s been great for a long time to drop Star Wars references into the college decision thought process.

“I kind of like ‘Revenge of the Sith’,” Downes said. “I don’t know. I just try not to like all the mainstream movies that everyone thinks are the best.”

The stories that come out of Mill Creek are what one might hope for the best Georgia player.

They are actually a lot better than we all hope we can learn.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound youngster has missed one workout in four years at Mill Creek. That was a bump from a trip back from a college visit. I was torn about it.

Downs watches more movie about a game than any other Mill Creek player. We’re talking about 100 hour gaps during the season compared to the next movie’s more attentive mouse.

“Keep in mind he’s keeping up with his ranks of honors,” Mill Creek coach Josh Lovelade said. “Keep in mind this is a freshman. Possessing all the things he has to do in the field of recruiting. By far, he watches the most movies on our team. He’s been that way for four years.”

When he finally took a week off to go to the beach for spring break, his coach was full of joy.

“I have to worry about him overtraining,” Lovelade said. “When I finally found out what he was doing on spring break, I was like, ‘Great. you have to go. Be a kid, and this will be his first week to be a kid. Don’t attend football. Just go be a kid. he did.”

When the topic of more serious workers came up in the 2023 class, Dawn was fine with where he thought he stood.

“I don’t think anyone in the nation works harder than me,” Downes said without an iota of flash or bragging.

He is the son of a college coach and recruitment coordinator. Credit is given to East Tennessee’s current assistant coach Gary Downs with the role of father/mentor.
