2022 NFL schedule released: Tom Brady decides to cancel force schedule makers to start over

If the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were the most fired by retired and non-stop Tom Brady in just 40 days, then the NFL schedule makers were a close second. As you can imagine, compiling a list for the 18-week regular season is not an easy task since the NFL not only needs to balance the various events in stadiums (concerts, shows, etc.), but also wants to increase TV revenue by putting in better Matches in the windows with the most eyeballs.

Of course, when Brady left New England to sign with Tampa Bay in 2020, the Buccaneers backed a roster of teams best suited for primetime windows. With his temporary departure, this reduced the star power of the overall NFC package. While the schedule makers were interested in how to fill that void and put together strong games, it was short-lived as Brady announced his return to the NFL just five weeks into retirement.

On the other hand, the NFC package has been brought back to life with the return of Brady. However, the schedulers, who were already putting together the regular 2022 season, had to basically start from scratch.

“When Tom Brady retired, we were concerned about the strength of the NFC package because there were so many great Tampa Bay games we were looking at,” NFL Broadcasting President Howard Katz told Sam Farmer. Los Angeles Times.

“Then a month later, he was released and we kind of started over again.”

This is ultimately a good problem to have in the NFL even if it requires rebuilding into the overall schedule. During the pre-season playoff round, the Buccaneers were among the highest-rated post-season matches during both the Super Wild Card Weekend (versus the Eagles) and the Divisional Round (versus the Rams), according to Sports Media Watch.

While Tampa Bay will have to wait until Thursday’s schedule release for the full recap of the 2022 regular seasons schedule, Team Bock know they will be headed to Germany where they will face the Seattle Seahawks in Munich in one of several international NFL games. Given that this game will feature Brady and take place in a new NFL frontier, this is sure to be a must-watch as it is with most of these games in what could be the final season of the quarterback.

The full 2022 NFL schedule will be released Thursday, May 12 at 8 p.m. ET on the NFL Network, NFL.com and the NFL App. NFL GameDay Show: The release schedule will be broadcast that night at 8 PM ET Paramount +NFL.com, NFL App, YouTube and NFL Channel.
