DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday 5/11/22

These Wednesday cards are some of the hardest to manage. There always seems to be games spread out evenly throughout the day, so we do our best to spread the games across all the different boards. The good news is that every team works, so there’s plenty to choose from. With that in mind, let’s start with our favorite jug of the day!

Now is your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to MLB and NBA Enhancers and our new Player Lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below.

Sandy AlcantaraSandy Alcantara FD – P 9100 DK – SP 8600
Discount – ARI (Meryl Kelly) garden – AR
FD – 35.33 DKK – 18.62.20 USD

Alcantara has been one of the best shooters in baseball for three years now, and it’s hard to understand why it’s still sitting at around $9,000. The right-hander has had a 3.14 ERA and 1.12 WHIP since 2020, having taken 271 hits across 283 runs. These are hard-to-find averages from a player in this price range, and we certainly wouldn’t expect them to be hit by the awful Arizona lineup at all. The Diamondbacks are ranked 24th in runs, 23rd in OPS, and 25th in K-rated. The odds makers love Sandy, too, making this seven-run total between two of the best guns in baseball.

Alex CobbAlex Cup FD – P 7300 DK – SP 6700
Discount – COL (Chad Kuhl) garden – sixth
FD – 35.02 DKK – 18.13

Cope got hit on his first run in IL, but this guy was pretty cool apart from that. In fact, Alex has a 4.40 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 13.8K/9 in his other three starts this year. It’s easy to understand why because Cobb’s speed has gone from 93 mph all the way to 97 this season. If he throws a fast ball that fast and mixes in his best court, nicknamed “The Thing,” Cobb could be involved in the rebound season. All of this makes it hard to avoid against Colorado, where the Rockies finished third in the standings, and scored OBP and OPS on the road last year. This led to Cobb’s entry into this match as a 200-time favorite in a game with a total of 7.5 runs.

Shuhei Ohtani ($10,800 DK $8,800) Just watched Reid Detmers throw a no-hitter against a struggling Rays group and it remains a good option despite the expensive price tags.

catcher / first rule

Ty FranceTy France FD – 1B 3700 DK – 1B 4200
Discount – PHI (Billy Walter) garden – for free
FD – 12.51 kr – 9.54

Viva La France has become a cult hero in Seattle, and the rest of the country needs to realize how special this guy is. Over the past three seasons, Ty has scored .26 AVG, .370 OBP, .451 SLG and .821 OPS. Those are ridiculous averages, and his numbers are even better this year. The biggest reason we love him is this match. France has .469 SLG and .815 OPS against the left in the same period. This isn’t a Southerner we’d expect to slow down, as Walther created a 5.49 ERA in just 41 runs at this level.

Rudy TellesRowdy Tellez FD – 1B 3400 DK – 1B 4300
Discount – CIN (Vladimir Gutierrez) garden – CI
FD – 11.35 DKK – 8.57

Rowdy has always been a target for us when he’s right handed, and that will undoubtedly be the case with the way the bat is swinging now. Tellez has totaled six pairs, four players and 17 RBI over his last 10 matches played. That equates to 0.775 SLG and 1.152 OPS in that period, and is one of the best stretches for any player all season. Almost all of that damage has come against the right, with Tellez accumulating .603 SLG and .924 OPS against them this season. He also cleans the bat in these places, which makes him hard to fade against a guy like Vlad Gutierrez. We’ll dive into his ugly numbers later!

second rule

Jose AltoveJose Altuve FD – 2B 3400 DK – 2B 5200
Discount – Maine (Chris Archer) garden – Accurate
FD – 11.53 DKK – 8.79

Altuve has been one of the top picks in fiction for nearly a decade. The diminutive second baseman has been amazing since he was activated from IL, entering this match amid a six-game winning streak. The Altuve has .474 AVG, .565 OBP, .947 SLG and 1.513 OPS in this range. We’ve seen him go on for extensions like this, and they usually only last longer than six games. It looks more likely to go on to take on a bowler like Chris Archer, with the right-handed recording a 4.61 ERA and 1.38 whip since 2018.

tommy addictionTommy Edman FD – 2B 3400 DK – 2B 5100
Discount – Pal (Spencer Watkins) garden – Special Tribunal for Lebanon
FD – 11.1 kronm – 8.68

The Cardinals were one of the best teams in baseball, and Edman’s beating at the top of this lineup is an important reason for that. He was dropped in the rankings earlier in the year, but they couldn’t keep him there the way he was hitting. In fact, Tommy has counted .22 AVG, .393 OBP, .458 SLG and .851 OPS so far this year. This doesn’t even include seven steals and 18 rounds, making it one of the best options in fiction. The showdown with Watkins is great too, with Spencer having a 6.66 ERA and 1.61 whip across 77 total strokes and hitting Edman from the left

shortstop

Javier BaezJavier Baez FD – SS 3000 DK – SS 4700
Discount – OAK (Zach Log) garden – The
FD – 11.86 DKK – 9.08

Javy is always one of our top targets on the board when he gets a match with the Southpaw subpar. That certainly seems to be the case here, as Zach Logue is making his second career start. It’s not like he was clipping the Triple-A hitters either, as he collected a 5.63 ERA and 1.81 WHIP there before he was called up. This makes it hard to understand why he bet, but it puts Baez up against him. Javy has had .281 AVG, .350 OBP, .516 SLG, and .866 OPS with a platoon advantage in his favour since 2020. Those are huge splits, making Baez about $500 super cheap on both sites.

Willie AdamsWilly Adames FD – SS 3700 DK – SS 4300
Discount – CIN (Vladimir Gutierrez) garden – CI
FD – 12.79 kronor – 9.69

Adames got off to a terrible start this season, but he found it recently. He follows seven house hurdles and 19 RBI over the course of his last 16 games, producing 352 OBP, .661 SLG and 1,013 OPS in that period. This is the guy we saw in the second half of last year, collecting 0.929 OPS over his last 75 games. It’s directly related to the Tampa trade, and Adames obviously loves to snatch at a hitter’s haven like Miller Park. We also discussed that Gutierrez is a big match, with a correct ballpark to 8.86 ERA and 2.02 WHIP this year.

third rule

Jose RamirezJose Ramirez FD – 3B 4400 DK – 3B 5900
Discount – CHW (Vince Velasquez) garden – CHW
FD – 12.28 kroner – 9.28

Ramirez is one of the most expensive players out there, but he earned it through his great play. He averages 29 smashes, 22 steals, 35 doubles, 88 points scored and 84 RBIs over the past five seasons. This is some of the best stats filler you’ll see in baseball, and it’s no surprise that he’s had .406 OBP, .607 SLG and 1.013 OPS this season. A lot of that production has come in lately, with J-Ram having supplied .400 OBP and .935 OPS during the last 12 games he played. Coming to the left side that’s more convenient for him is massive against Vince Velasquez, with Jose having a 1.167 OPS against the right-handers this year.

Eugene SuarezEugenio Suarez FD – 3B 3500 DK – 3B 4600
Discount – PHI (Billy Walter) garden – for free
FD – 9.98 DKK – 7.42

We’ve already discussed how Falter only threw 41 rounds at this level, and could make the Mariners one of the most cheated combinations on the board. This is one of the few teams you can stack in the middle of the ranking and save some salary, with Eugenio being a complex part of that group. This is simply one of the best power hitters in baseball, smashing 161 since 2017. He’s also got a .494 SLG and a .250 ISO in that span, and we obviously don’t mind that he has a platoon advantage against the inexperienced bit. It’s starting to get hot now too, posting .375 OBP, .684 SLG and 1,059 OPS over the last six games.

Outside

Mocky PetsMookie Betts FD – from 4300 kronor – from 5600
Discount – Pit (Dillon Peters) garden – pit
FD – 12.35 DK – 9.3

Stacking The Dodgers is nearly impossible with the cost of these guys, but we think the Mookie is the best choice of the bunch. This guy always hits the lead atop the best lineup in baseball, regularly providing .400 OBP, .500 SLG and .900 OPS. The reason we love him is because he’s starting to feel the heat, having hit 14 of his last 16 matches. The Mookie kept the .323 AVG, .411 OBP, .581 SLG and .981 OPS in this range. This is rough news for Peters, as the left-handed collected 5.16 ERAs and 1.49 whips across 176 innings.

Jordan AlvarezJordan Alvarez FD – 3900 kroner – 5900
Discount – Maine (Chris Archer) garden – Accurate
FD – 11.66 kronm – 8.74

It’s crazy that this kid is only 24 years old! Yordan has been one of the most consistent hitters since called-up, collecting .287 AVG, .372 OBP, .577 SLG and .949 OPS since 2019. Those are ridiculous averages across 1,075 plate appearances and his worst season in that was a .877 OPS stretch. . Most of that damage has come against right-handers, with Yordan posting .714 SLG and 1,094 OPS against them this year. We’ve already discussed how bad Archer has been for most of his career, which is what makes Stros one of the sexiest groups out there.

Tyler O'NeillTyler O’Neill – from 3300 kroner – 4100
Discount – Pal (Spencer Watkins) garden – Special Tribunal for Lebanon
FD – 12.91 DK – 9.76

O’Neal has struggled for most of this season, but it’s only a matter of time before he rolls over. We’re talking about a mash that made 26 doubles, 34 Homers, 80 RBI and 15 steals en route to .352 OBP, .560 SLG and .912 OPS last season. His numbers are a lot lower than this year, but she’s slashed his price to a number we can’t get enough of. What has killed him is his dud ammunition, as he has gone goalless in seven games this year. He’s earned at least 16 FanDuel points in seven games as well, and we’re going to count one of those going on here against one of the worst bowlers in baseball.
