Chris Paul has an issue with a young fan touching his mother during the Phoenix Suns’ Route 4 loss to the Mavericks

Dallas – Chris Paul’s day was bad enough.

The Phoenix Suns All-Star missed 8:58 from the left in Game 4 that ended in a 111-101 loss Sunday to the Dallas Mavericks ahead of a crowd of 20,610 at the American Airlines Center that tied the Western Conference semifinal series.

Then things got worse.

A witness in the seating area told The Republic that a young fan “put his hands” on Paul’s mother during the fourth quarter, and Paul nearly entered the stands after being told by his father.

Paul spoke about the situation on Twitter.

“I want good players to say things to the fans but the fans can get their hands on our families….(expletive) that!!” Paul tweeted.

The Mavericks responded with a statement after being contacted by The Republic about Paul’s tweet.

“The Dallas Mavericks are aware of an incident between a fan and Chris Paul’s family. It was unacceptable behavior and would not be tolerated. The Mavericks, along with American Airlines Center, quickly removed the fan from today’s game,”

The Mavericks released a second statement stating that their investigation into the removal of two “unruly” fans from the arena after attempting “unwelcome hugs” and conversations with the Bowles family has been banned until 2023.

The witness said that Suns Security made the arena security aware of the situation. A second witness believes this happened shortly after Paul made a mistake.

Once he learned what had happened, Paul looked to go to the stands before Suns assistant Mark Bryant and Jarrett Jack stopped him from coming back.

When the fan was leaving with an adult woman, Paul was talking about him.

“Hey, I’ll see you later, I’ll see you later,” Paul shouted at the fans. “see you later.”

The match was also attended by Paul’s wife and children. His family sat near the Suns seat. ESPN reports that Paul’s wife has also been under pressure.

After the match, Paul was the first Suns player in the visiting media room and was answering questions before teammate Devin Booker joined him.

Often both stars give joint interviews after the match and leave together.

This time, Paul left early in a bit of a rush while Booker was still answering questions.

The fan incident was the worst part of this Mother’s Day as Paul made four mistakes in the first half, the last coming 1.1 seconds before the end of the second quarter.

Scoring just five points a game in a 2-of-4 shot, Paul went after his foul and was called up for a foul.

Luka Doncic’s Mavs All-Star fielded two free throws to give Dallas a first-half lead 68-56.

“I should have kept Chris out of the game, especially right before the first half,” said Suns coach Monty Williams.

Williams challenged Paul’s fifth foul with a 9:32 left in the third quarter as he was called up for an offensive foul to slow him down with a dribble in front of Galen Bronson.

“I can’t put myself in these situations to give them that ability to do that,” Paul said. “I just have to look at myself and find out how to get better.”

Missing the remainder of the third quarter, Paul scored in the game with 10:28 remaining in the fourth inning only to pick up his sixth foul to break through less than two minutes later.

“It was crazy, man,” said Paul. “It was crazy. Hard. Hard. We have to go back to Game Five (Tuesday in Phoenix).”
