Texas OL Isaiah Hookfin Finalizes Medicine Scholarship

On Wednesday at the Texas Fighting Tour in Dallas, head coach Steve Sarkissian confirmed that the official finale of the Texas Longhorns attacking junior Isaiah Hokvin soccer tournament on Forty Acres is in the works.

Hawkvin did not participate in spring training after breaking eight ribs, breaking his collarbone and forearm and rupturing his spleen in a motorcycle accident in December that made him believe his helmet saved his life.

A late rising prospect in the 2019 hiring chapter, Hookfin’s controversial hiring between Baylor and Texas, which included postponing Hookfin’s commitment to the Bears on early signing day, ultimately ended with Fort producer Bend Dulles signing with Longhorns at the end of the early signing period.

Hookfin finished the course as an agreed four-star potential player, ranked as the 250th player nationally and 21st offensive tackle, according to 247Sports Composite Ratings. Seen as a developmental prospect, Hookfin shone in 2019 before competing for an early-season job at pre-season camp as a rookie. Unfortunately for Hookfin, he then suffered the first major setback of his career in Texas, where a shoulder injury restricted him to one game and eventually required surgery. When he returned in 2021, he appeared in the match against Rice, but was unable to appear as a rotation player prior to his motorcycle accident.

With news of the impending medical retirement of Isiah Hokvin, she appeared in Texas four times and started one of the three signed offensive line for 2019, a group that also included Top 60 potential Tyler Johnson and four-star Javon Shepherd.

Also, the attrition rate for the entire class is unbelievable. Of the 26 Class 3 signers, only five are set to start pre-season camp with the Horns – running back Rochon Johnson, wide receiver Jordan Whittington, narrow end Brayden Lebrock, defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat, and linebacker David Gbanda.

Texans are now in the 83 Scholarships players for the 2022 season.
