  1. Today’s Show: Which teams have the easiest 2022 schedules?

USATSI

We’re still a day away from releasing the official full NFL schedule, but John Breech joined forces with Will Brinson on Wednesday’s “Select Six NFL Podcast” to assess schedule strength rankings and preview which teams have the easiest and hardest rosters in 2022. Some highlights of the discussion:

  • The Rams has an uphill climb to repeat as Super Bowl champions, with Brych confirming that Los Angeles has the toughest schedule in the league, with 10 playoffs facing 2022. Meanwhile, runners-up Bengals have the toughest in the AFC.
  • Guys like Matt Ryan have led the Colts as sleepy rivals, considering they come in with the easiest table in the AFC and currently have tall odds of winning the Conference (+1300) or the Super Bowl (+2500).
  • The NFC East can be a real source of intrigue, with all four teams likely to benefit from their schedules, which are the easiest in the NFL in terms of schedule strength. Remember, the Eagles ran the playoffs in 2021 with a poor schedule.

With online travel bureaus and boot camp approaching, all eyes are on top novices reporting for work. Fortunately, Tyler Sullivan has us covered with a running tracker of each head coach’s contract status. Number 6 overall, Ikem Ekwonu, the Panthers’ new left-handed intervention, is one of the most recent big names to sign his deal, a fully secured agreement worth $27.57 million. paying off Sullivan tracker For full contract details of all 32 first-round picks.

4. Veterans who can be cut block by block

With the draft in the back view, plenty of teams are starting the off-season with new faces across the lineup. Some older people may also be on their way out. Now that the rookies have joined, Expert Chris Trapsow’s project selected Some notable veterans who may find themselves on edge:

  • Bells RB Zack Moss: If Zac Moss is cut this summer, finances won’t have much of a role in it. Suddenly, though, Buffalo’s backyard became crowded. Bills veteran Duke Johnson signed this off season and chose James Cook in the second round of the draft. Devin Singletary is entering camp as the rookie after a solid campaign in 2021.
  • Seahawks RB Chris Carson: They finally had a high-quality production pick from former Rashad Penny in the first round at the end of the 2021 campaign, picking Kenneth Walker in the second round. These two incidents don’t bode well for Chris Carson, the old brick wall of the back that simply happens to fall apart a lot.
  • Patriots WR Nelson Agulor: His knots began to appear as a sore thumb in the Patriots books. His 2022 cap is $14.8 million, and while New England likely doesn’t want to absorb $10 million from this season’s cap, they can afford it. It doesn’t seem like the perfect time to remove offensive weapons for second-year quarterback Mac Jones, but the Patriots have plenty of pass-through bodies on the roster now.

5. Top Offensive Predictions for 2023: CJ Stroud Headlines QBs

CJ Stroud

Is it too early to look forward to the 2023 recruitment cycle? There’s no escape, says Josh Edwards. He took a stand-by-position look at The best offensive prospects He is scheduled to leave college next spring. He believes that the best QBs in 2023 will attract much more interest from this year’s pool of signal callers:

  1. CJ Stroud, Ohio
  2. Bryce Young, Alabama
  3. Will Levis, Kentucky
  4. Tyler Van Dyck, Miami
  5. Devin Leary, North Carolina

Stroud was one of the most efficient quarterbacks in college football last season. Young is an instinctive playmaker and an impromptu who makes good decisions. Levis is a strong, armed midfielder with greater mobility. Van Dyke has great size for the job, he never panics and throws to touch the field. Leary was a productive player last season. His passes are good hitting and he usually has good ball position.
