Javier Báez, AJ Hinch Kicked Out In Tigers Loss In Athletics

DETROIT (AFP) – Paul Blackburn threw 6 2/3 innings to improve to 4-0 as the Oakland A-Team beat the Detroit Tigers 2-0 on Monday night to capture a season-high of nine games in a row.

Tony Kemp had a solo home run in the third, and Chad Bender added an RBI song for fourth.

Blackburn gave up four hits and hit three before leaving in the seventh inning. Despite hitting the hitter twice, rookie Danny Jimenez escaped damage and made a fifth save to finish off the hitter’s four.

The Tigers, who have managed only four hits and been eliminated in two consecutive games, have lost six consecutive goals and 13 of their last 15.

Michael Pineda (1-2) took the loss, although only two runs on six hits were allowed in 6.2 innings.
