It would be great news for sophomore head coach Steve Sarkissian, new receiving coach/passing game coordinator Brennan Marion, and the Texans Football Program if one of the transfer goals succeeds this weekend without announcing a decision. With award-winning Biletnikoff Award winner and former sophomore Pitt Panthers recipient Jordan Addison set to visit with new head coach Lincoln Riley and the USC Trojans this weekend, the Texas coaching staff will be anxiously awaiting whatever comes from him in the 24-48 hours.
Sark, Marion and Longhorns hosted Addison on an official visit to Austin earlier in the week. Addison had a multi-day visit with Texas that has gone very well by all accounts so far. Texans did everything they could to try and make a big move with Addison out of the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Texans likely wanted to get a decision from Addison in the last few days before he could make any more visits. This was the best course of action for Texas to finally win the race to get a commitment from Addison out of the gate.
What are the odds that Jordan Addison targeting the Texas soccer team will stick to USC during his team’s game this weekend?
However, USC is now receiving an official visit from Addison this weekend. And that could end up being the weekend that ultimately decides to enlist Addison this off season.
If Edison makes it this weekend without announcing a commitment, that’s good for Texas and another competitor during this transfer. Texans will still stand a good chance of getting a commitment from Addison if we can make it through the weekend without committing to the Trojans.
The same can be said of the Alabama Crimson Tide, who is still expected to get a visit from Addison if he doesn’t stick to USC this weekend.
The fact of the matter, however, is that the Trojans seemed to be the favorites of the odds to get Addison out of the gate since his name originally appeared on the transfer market two weeks ago. The University of Southern California still appears to be in the best position to endorse Edison’s commitment.
Thus, it wouldn’t be too surprising for him to walk out this weekend having announced his commitment to USC.
Texas has already added two wide scholarships and one preferred by transfer gate so far this off season. Scholarship Gateway additions to the receiving corps include former Wyoming freshman Isaiah Neuer and Alabama freshman Aggie Hall.
