The NBA and Hennessy teamed up in April to establish a unique basketball court in Taiwan as part of its efforts to promote the cultural significance of basketball. The result is a massive treat for the eyes and basketball fans alike.
The only jumbo basketball court in the world
In April, the NBA and Hennessy set up a unique basketball court in front of the National Chang Kai Shek Memorial Hall located in Zhongzheng District, Taiwan. Features a huge white Hennesy basketball and the NBA logo. The stadium is painted black with white stripes bearing the NBA and Hennessy logos. It looks sophisticated with a pleasant blend of tradition and culture brought in by the historic Memorial Hall in the background from afar. As posted on his LinkedIn page, Marketing Director Liu Wan claimed that they wanted to promote cultural significance through the event.
“This partnership with the NBA gave life to the cultural movement that Hennessy set out to conquer and we couldn’t be more proud to be able to stage one of the most iconic moments at National CKS Memorial Hall. We are all set to continue pushing boundaries and bringing more cultural significance to our clients in the years to come. Coming!”

Hennessy partnered with the NBA in 2020 to become the official spirit of the league. Hennessy replaced Jack Daniels as the NBA spirit partner. Since then, efforts have been made in NBA stadiums around the world to enhance the cultural experience of fans through activities and innovations that highlight the “Never Stop, Never Settle” ethos.
Hennessy also made similar stunts to celebrate the NBA’s 75th anniversary. The world’s number one cognac made the world’s first floating basketball court in the middle of Sydney Harbor in Australia. It seems that Hennessy and the NBA do not stop at creating unique basketball courts in other parts of the world, and fans should strongly anticipate where the new fixtures will be located.
NBA Thin Line Threads
It is good that the basketball court in Taiwan did not bother China, the important and well-known partner of the National Basketball Association in Asia. China has become one of the most important markets for the NBA and its players. There is a reason why stars stop in China when promoting their shoes. Taiwan and China have been at odds in recent years, and conflict is almost boiling on the basketball court.
Agnes Kanter expressed his support for Taiwan, which may be a reason why he is not in the league today. The NBA cannot risk drawing the wrath of the Chinese government or losing massive income from partnerships and merchandise sales there.
Hennessy is on the right track in bringing people together and creating new experiences for basketball fans around the world. Cheers for making sports more global while simultaneously enhancing the cultural experience.
