Game 7, the two best words in the sport, is currently a major trend in the 2022 NHL playoffs. There are three Game 7 games on Saturday and two on Sunday. We are only in the first round.

The NHL first carried out a best-of-seven streak in the 1939 Stanley Cup playoffs. There’s plenty of history to sift through, but we’ve got you covered.

The 1994 and 2011 playoffs featured Game 7 in the Stanley Cup Final. The Rangers defeated the Vancouver Canucks to win the title in 1994, and the Bruins defeated the Canucks in 2011. Tough luck for Vancouver.

Which NHL Playoffs Have the Lowest 7s Game?

There have been 19 seasons in NHL history in which Game 7. There hasn’t been one in some time, with the most recent occurring in 1977.

There was also the case of 2005, the year there were no playoffs due to the 2004-05 shutdown. But nowadays, we’re more likely to see Game 7 happen rather than nothing.

The Bruins hold the record for most 7s played in NHL history. Boston featured in 28 of them with a record 15-13.

Winnipeg won her game while The Seals, an expansion team, lost in 1967. The Seals later moved to Cleveland in 1976 to become the Barrons, but the franchise ceased operations after the 1978 season.
