Riverside Boys’ Soccer Team defeats two boys at the AAAAA State Championship

IRMO – Riverside will not be denied.

The Warriors struck early and led the AAAAA state championship match. With a quick shot from the right side of the field, Keegan Price sent a shot into the net and gave Riverside a 1-0 lead in the early stages. This goal became a deficiency that Chapin could not overcome.

“We like to go out and score first,” said Riverside coach Scott Columbia.

Perhaps that’s a good thing – the Warriors scored a second goal in the opening minutes of the second half as well, as their two early goals allowed Chapin’s 2-1 lead for the state title.

For the second year in a row, Riverside has won the AAAAA Boys’ Football Championship, and for the 14th time in the program’s history, the Warriors have won it all.
