It takes a great deal of luck and effort to make a college football playoff game. History tells us that it takes at least a table with one loss, and a resume worthy of entry.

You have to avoid injuries, disruptions, and total wear for a 13-game schedule, especially if you’re playing in the SEC. So if you’re going to stage a college football game, it’s going to take years of elite-level recruiting, a near-perfect season, and a huge amount of luck and interruptions along the way.
