MLB The Show 22 is here, and now we’ve learned a lot about new features and promotions coming to Diamond Dynasty, March through October, and more.

With the release date upon us, here’s everything we know about MLB The Show 22.

Latest – Monthly Prizes for April

The full monthly MLB The Show April 22 awards program, which includes all the players selected as the top performers from the first month of the season, has now been revealed.

In the past, we’ve seen a separate monthly rewards program offered each month in addition to the standalone Topps Now program.

They chose to combine the two this year, and you’ve already won Topps Now players as you work towards getting the monthly prize cards.

It’s Shock Time: Shohei Ohtani is Officially a Cover Athlete for MLB The Show 22

We’re finally here, and now fans around the world can pick up their bats and swing in the new game from San Diego Studios.

Just as we saw with MLB The Show 21, MLB The Show 22 will also hit Xbox Game Pass on day one, which remains a huge bonus for Xbox gamers.

Sports cover and trailer revealed

We learned that the official MLB The Show 22 cover athlete would be none other than Shohei Ohtani, and in fact there was no other choice.

At just 27 years old, Shohei Ohtani had a year-to-date in 2021 by finishing the season as All-Star Player, MLB First Team Player, AP Sportsman of the Year, and MLS Player of the Year.

He also won the Silver Slugger Award, the Edgar Martinez Award, and the Commissioner’s Historic Achievement Award, further establishing him as the biggest star in baseball today.

This first trailer focuses entirely on the revelations of Shohei Ohtani, and highlights some of what made his career so special and why he earned the honor.

Platforms, price and versions

MLB The Show 22 will be available to more gamers than ever this year as it reaches five different platforms across three game console families.

MLB The Show 22 will launch on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S and Nintendo Switch. This is the first time they’ve used the Nintendo platform, and only the second year the game hasn’t been a PlayStation exclusive.

Choose what works for you: MLB The Show 22 will be on five different platforms at launch

We’re expecting to have an MVP and Digital Deluxe Edition in addition to the standard edition of MLB The Show 22, as they’ve been mentioned as including the current and next-gen versions of the game, but we don’t know more details just yet.

MLB The Show 22 Standard Edition will be $59.99 on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, but it will be $69.99 on PS5 and Xbox Series X | S.

For players who purchased the digital version of the game on PS4 or Xbox One, they will be able to spend $10 at a later time to digitally upgrade to PS5 or Xbox Series X | S.

New gameplay, game modes and features

One of the big questions every year with every bit of a mainstream sports game franchise is simply “what’s new,” and there’s no shortage of answers for MLB The Show 22.

Franchise Mode, March through October, and Road to the Show will get their own improvements this year.

Gameplay continues to be improved with modifications to hitting and pitching as well as adding field practice to custom practice.

This is also the first year that the franchise arrives on the Nintendo Switch, and gets online collaboration for the first time.
