FanDuel NHL: Friday goals

This article is part of the FanDuel NHL series.

slate preview

An avalanche could end the mission after Nazim Qadri’s overtime heroics in Game 4 put Lightning on the brink of elimination. This would end Tampa’s valiant bid for a three-peat while Colorado would claim its first trophy in 21 years, both times where Joe Sakic was heavily involved.

The series was surprisingly uncompetitive with the Avs dominating most of the series even though Nathan McKinnon scored only one goal – and he didn’t get off his wand. Mikko Rantanen leads Colorado with eight points, but Cal Makar remains the favorite for the playoffs’ best player. Lightning may have run out of gas as the main players take on a painful role and Andrei Vasilevskiy looks like a human.

The confrontation formats do not allow goalkeepers, but note that Darcy Kuemper and Vasilevskiy are expected to start. Although Kuemper has posted superior stats, there is no doubt as to who the best network watchers are.

play value

Darren HelmCOL for TB ($6,500): Helm has been a buzz saw the entire series. His 30 successes are 12 more than any other player and more than anyone ever expected. Helm also scored two points. Avs’ fourth streak has been very involved and doesn’t seem to be holding back.

Corey Berryterabytes per COL ($6,500): With Nikita Kucherov and Anthony Cirelli clearly injured, he will fall to a depth of lightning to provide the scoring. Perry has been excellent around the net and at times has the edge of hard play. Lightning was victorious in Game 3 because they were often able to get into the hole, which is where Perry excels and where he scores a goal.

font stacks

Nazim Qadri (C – $11,000 USD), Gabriel Landskog (w – 13,000 USD), Valery Nesushkin (w – 11500 USD)

This will be a very popular combination with Landeskog and Nichushkin leading the Avs with three goals each in this series. Kadri’s hand looked good as he buried the winner in the final, and Nathan McKinnon drew a lot of attention and found it difficult to score. Avs’ second unit will also draw the softest matches especially after the last change of house.

Cal MakarCOL for TB ($14,500): The favorite for Con Smith is head and shoulders above everyone else, and with just 27 points, he already set the record for a record entry in the extension by a hat-era defending man. It also ranks 8th in points per game (minimum 10) and 58ths ahead of the next highest defense (Adam Fox), making it the only noteworthy option in the standoff formats.
