Perkins, who appeared on ESPN’s broadcast of the draft alongside Malika Andrews and Jay Bellas, provided the analysis in a way no one else could.

It didn’t even take long… to shake things up.
While comparing him to #1, Paolo Banchero with Michael Beasley and Ben Simmons, may have caused a lot of viewers to do a double take, he was getting excited.
Kendrick Perkins compares Chet Holmgren, Giannis Antitokonmo and Christaps Porzingis
“If Giannis Antetokonmo and Kristaps Porzingis had a baby, they’d get Chet Holmgren,” Perkins said as the Gonzaga star ranked second after the Thunder.
seriously.

While there may be some shadows for every Holmgren player, any player who could be considered a legitimate mix of Antetokounmpo and Porzingis would be the unanimous #1 pick on the track to be the greatest basketball player ever.
Holmgren is on the line for a fruitful career at OKC, but the Giannis-Porzingis hybrid may have been too much.
Kendrick Perkins on Benedict Mathurin
Perkins went on to compare sixth overall pick Benedict Mathurin, an explosive and prolific goalkeeper, to Raptors’ OG Anunoby, a strong and defensive striker capable of guarding multiple positions.
Keep scratching the head.
Mathurin x OG?

Kendrick Perkins vs. Desmond Payne
From there, Perkins’ shots were mostly moderate â that is, until he gave up comparing him to Duke guard Trevor Keels.
Described by Perkins as a “muscular ball,” Kells gained a reputation for his strength as a head guard during his time at Duke, leading TSN’s Kyle Irving to compare him to Portland’s Eric Bledsoe. However, Perkins had a different idea, comparing Kells to Grizzlies guard Desmond Payne.
Aside from their abilities in the weight room, they don’t have much in common. Bane made sure to tell Perkins that he disagreed with his analysis.
“I [and] Trevor Keeles got [a] Similar game??? Bane tweeted in response to Perkins’ compliment. Perkins replied, ‘Yes have you seen yourself lately?! Stay humble, young man.”
The two immediately got into a hilarious exchange, and Ja Morant and the 2022 Grizzlies also made sure to pick the Grizzlies Jake LaRavia project as well.

Perkins warned Bane (and everyone else who was watching the back and forth motion) that he’s “the one who’s going up that chimney,” which means he’s ready for all the smoke.
With the quotes and comparisons that Perkins has fired up during this year’s draft, he definitely calls it quits.
