Joey Gallo

New York (AFP) – Joey Gallo’s unproductive tenure with the New York Yankees ended when he was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday for junior right-back Clayton Peter.

The 28-year-old defensive player was acquired from Texas on July 29 last year and hit .159 for the Yankees with 25 Homers, 46 RBIs, and 194 hits in 421 bats. He was repeatedly booed by fans at Yankee Stadium, lost his playing time in recent weeks to Matt Carpenter and became unnecessary when New York acquired Andrew Benintende from Kansas City last week.

“I have a lot of respect for the way he works, how he carried himself,” Yankees manager Aaron Boone said. “A lot of us really feel for the situation he was in and the burden he felt and carried.”

Tiger Woods has rejected an offer of between $700 million and $800 million to join the Saudi-backed LIV Golf chain, according to tour chief executive Greg Norman.

During an interview on Fox News that aired on Monday, former world number one Tucker Carlson asked Norman if it was true that Woods had offered him between $700 and $800 million to join the LIV Golf series.

“That number was around before I became CEO,” Norman replied. “So, that number is right there, yeah. Look, Tiger is a needle-driver, right?”

“So, of course, you’re going to look the absolute best. They originally got in touch with Tiger before I became CEO, so yeah, that number is somewhere in that neighborhood.”

‘Express train’

<p>"Bullet Train" certainly moves at an appropriately fast pace, with Brad Pitt heading up a sprawling team. But the super action is offset by a clever tone that proves uneven and sometimes too cute for its own good, along with a host of styles — from music to visuals — that come across wishing Quentin Tarantino, with a dash of "Deadpool" for good measure.

The latter effect should come as no surprise, as director David Leitch oversaw the “Deadpool” sequel, as well as the drudgery of the “John Wick” and “Fast & Furious” franchises. Tarantino’s echoes were also bolstered by Pete’s presence, having shown his manly side in that director’s films, most recently winning an Oscar for “Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood.”
