A new leak made Deshaun Watson spit straight in the face of Jimmy Haslam’s damage control attempt for the Cleveland Browns.
The Cleveland Browns and Deshaun Watson are not on the same page as to how to proceed. The tension surrounding the beleaguered and shamed full-back and the team’s continuous failed attempts to rehabilitate his image may top the media with consistent messages that do not match each other. Jimmy Hassan posted a statement a few days ago that said:
We know Deschon is sorry that this situation has caused so much grief to so many and he will continue to work to show who he is on and off the field, and we will continue to support him.
Except, this is not what is being reported. Adam Shafter stated that Watson and his camp feel he has done nothing wrong and that he is nothing but remorseful. Now, some will see this as a made-up story, done to make Watson look bad.
That’s the thing though, that players like Shafter play really well with teams. If he lies, the teams stop giving them the information. That’s all by the way folks, it’s coordinated leaks from people on the team. So if he reports Shafter that Watson has no regrets, it’s not because he made it up, but because someone in Brown’s front office (or coaching staff) is passing it on to him.
Why do they transfer it? Well, to put it simply, it is probably because not everyone seems to have participated in the Watson experiment. Given that the judge ruled that Watson was a predator, sexually assaulted four women, limited his freedoms due to the amount of danger he posed to others, and called his actions “more egregious than any association has ever faced”, I understand why I wouldn’t want him around.
Most people outside of the Browns The Browns and even Browns fans have condemned him for supporting Watson. For good reason, his behavior is unreasonable and all the allegations against him turned out to be true.
So the “cash grab” or “conspiracy” arguments so many tried to push ended up being desperate attempts by desperate fans to justify their fan base for The Beast.
The only reason Robinson had a six-game suspension isn’t that he’s innocent, because he didn’t see that a consistent precedent had been set to justify a longer suspension, nor did league policies allow her to propose a longer suspension. Although a precedent can always be set so there is no great judgment from it but that is why there is an appeal process.
Despite this, she ruled Watson guilty. shocking
Brown tried to spoil Baker Mayfield’s tenure just because they didn’t like his attitude. The whole “I want an adult quarterback” thing came from someone inside the front office and was most likely intentionally leaked. Don’t you think some of the people running Brown have worse feelings for Watson? Think again.
It’s just speculation on my part, but why would anyone leak news about Watson, and who would be the one to leak it? Good question, let’s take a closer look at the situation.
The Cleveland Browns may be rebelling against Jimmy Haslam
Since the inception of the free agency, the word has been around the NFL Rumor Mill that Jimmy Haslam and no one else is the driving force to go get Watson. If this is true, it could be anyone and everyone who is leaking the news.
Personally, the one who has the most to lose from this blowout is Andrew Berry. Even if Hassan Salam pushed Perry to do this trade, I personally think, it would be Perry who would bear the consequences if this thing exploded any further. If Watson is suspended for a year or more and the team starts to lose, Perry will be the scapegoat.
Even worse, should Watson return, which seems likely considering his reported lack of reprimand, Brown would look even worse for allowing an active predator to be a member of the team. The worst thing that can happen to Browns is new victims coming forward after they’ve acquired it.
These are all situations where Perry will face the heat and get kicked out of the league. However, if you’re the one providing the information to put the screws on, you’ll end up building a sword-resistant Pope-Mobile should the dangling Sword of Deshaunocles fall on the franchise.
This story never goes away you guys get used to the team’s new narrative.
Oh my gosh, I miss when the worst thing about this team was going 1-31.
