The MLB The Show 22 esports season begins with the Summer Arena.

With an updated format, a new platform to play with, and additional chances to win, there are more reasons than ever to test your skills and show off your Diamond Dynasty team. The Summer Circuit gives eligible players* a chance to win millions of runsTMa share of the $25,000 prize pool, signed Shohei Ohtani items, and more.

Summer Arena

The cross-platform competitive MLB The Show 22 Summer Circuit is available to those over the age of 13 in the United States and Canada, across all PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch platforms. This year, the Summer Circuit has four open qualifiers. The top 16 qualified players from each qualifier will subsequently compete in the Grand Finals for $25,000 in total cash prizes and more.

Those who did not finish in the top 16 on their first entry can try again in any of the remaining qualifiers.

  • Qualifiers 1: 21-22 May
  • Qualifier 2: 28-29 May
  • Qualifier 3: 4-5 June
  • Qualifier 4: June 11-12
  • Finals: June 18-19

On the first day of each Summer Qualifying Tournament, all players will compete in an open ladder format. Competitors can be queued at any time during an eight-hour window, but they must complete six matches of three runs for their score to be counted. Every win earns the player a point and every loss loses a point. The top 64 players (plus links) will move on to Day 2.

On the second day, the top 64 players (plus links) will compete in a single elimination category playing nine matches. Each player who makes it to Day Two will receive a minimum of 11,000 MLB The Show Stubs.

Open Qualification Awards:

  • 1st place: 1,050,000 MLB The Show 22 Stubs
  • Second place: 600,000 MLB The Show 22 Stubs
  • 3rd-4th Place: 300,000 MLB The Show 22 Stubs
  • 5th-8th Place: 150,000 MLB The Show 22 Stubs
  • 9th-16th Place: 67,500 MLB The Show 22 Stubs
  • 17th – 32nd place: 24,000 MLB The Show 22 Stubs
  • 33 – 64: 11,000 MLB The Show 22 Stubs
  • Each player who finishes the minimum number of matches (6) will receive 11,000 heels, win or lose.

The Grand Finals will take place from 18-19 June. Day one will feature a single arc format with the best 64 players from the four open qualifiers.

On the second day, watch the final four competitors play on San Diego Studio Twitch with the first place taking home with $15,000!

Grand Final Prizes:

  • First place: 15,000 US dollars
  • 2nd place: 5000 USD
  • Third place: 3000 USD
  • Fourth place: $2000
  • 5th-8th Place: 150,000 MLB The Show 22 Stubs
  • 9th-16th Place: 67,500 MLB The Show 22 Stubs
  • 17th – 32nd place: 24,000 MLB The Show 22 Stubs
  • 33 – 64: 11,000 MLB The Show 22 Stubs

The Top 3 players will also win a Shohei Ohtani jersey, a baseball kit, a gift voucher to the MLB Shop and an original baseball used in the MLB 2022 Home Run Derby.

Tournament Tips

When preparing for the competition, make sure that you practice hitting and promoting the Legend difficulty set for your tournament. Once you start doing that, you’re on your way to a better gaming day:

  • Supercharged is the latest installment in MLB The Show 22. If a real-life player has a great game, there is a chance that their card will become supercharged in MLB The Show 22***, which increases their stats dramatically for 48 hours! Supercharged players can add the edge your team needs to reach the top.
  • Hand-eye coordination is key in tournaments. In the upgraded ‘Practice Mode’ you can not only head into the hitting practice but now you can also practice field play and basic running, allowing for more preparation.
  • Ranked seasons can be a great training environment to play competitively with your Diamond Dynasty team***. In addition, the higher you advance in the leaderboard, the more rewards you will get for your use.
