Now spotlights on Vegas Hockey from 2021 to 22

On November 1, 2021 I was hired full time as the Vegas Golden Knights beat the now National Hockey League writer. It was a tough season as a 21-year-old in college to the rhythm of a major professional sports team 4.

But I learned a lot in just seven months.

I am grateful for this opportunity and so excited to continue things full time in Las Vegas next season. I graduated from Robert Morris University on Friday.

With the season winding down, I wanted to take a look at some of the articles I’ve written that are still standing (in terms of being outdated), and throw them in daily for some casual reading material.

I’m not trying to put my horn here because I’m linking to these articles. Instead, I want to pass it on to the folks who may have slipped through the cracks this season.

Highlights now on Vegas Hockey

Let’s start with the latest – which player played his last game as the Golden Knight this season? Riley Smith? Laurent Prosuite? Matthias Janmark?

What does the Golden Knight’s off-season schedule look like?

Why are we here? Why did the Vegas Golden Knights miss the 2022 qualifiers?

Clean-up day was Tuesday, and Peter Debore announced that he would meet with Kelly McCremon and management to discuss his future.

The Golden Knights also revealed that Robin Lehner and Laurent Prosuite will undergo off-season surgery.

He may not reside in Las Vegas but here is Peter Debor’s all-time team in the 500 winning the NHL.

With the Stanley Cup playoffs still underway, here are the National Hockey League picks now for the first round. Golden Knights fans seem to be rooting for Minnesota Wild and New York Rangers with former Golden Knights making up their rosters.

On the NHL trade deadline, Evgenii Dadonov was apparently traded to the Anaheim Ducks to free up cover space. But after interference from the NHL, Dadonov returned to the NHL with his head held high, looking better than ever.

On January 30, defender Brayden McNab signed a three-year extension with the Golden Knights. With the team still facing the salary cap, what could this mean for the Golden Knight’s defense?

Speaking of defense, Zach Whitecloud had an impressive season in 2021-22. He finished with 8 goals, 11 assists, and was +21 (all career highs). Whitecloud has taken the next step in his evolution as a potential Top 4 player in VGK.

News article but still relevant – Golden Knights owner Bill Foley has confirmed that new shirts are coming soon for VGK, likely for next season.

It’s rare to see a first-line position traded in the NHL, but the Vegas Golden Knights were on the receiving end of one of those deals as they added Jack Eichel. How does Eichel’s trade stack up against other first-line center deals in the NHL like Ryan O’Reilly, Tyler Seguin and Mika Zibanejad?

Speaking of Eichel, once the deal was announced, everyone was envisioning the Golden Knights as the best Stanley Cup in 2022. But as it stands, Conor McDavid currently has a better chance of winning his first trophy before Eichel does.

This is more relevant than ever – what is Mattias Janmark’s role with VGK?

The Golden Knights have had to rely on their AHL affiliate Henderson Silver Knights more than ever this season. The hierarchy of Silver Knights summons is revealed over time for the Golden Knights.

Only seven of the original Golden Knights remained on the team’s roster. Who will last longer?

Who is the first player in the history of every NHL team? For the Golden Knights, it’s Red Duke.

How many players have been selected in the NHL expansion drafts and won the Stanley Cup with their expansion team?
