Zenbook 17 Fold OLED features a 17-inch screen when flat and a 12.5-inch screen when folded. The publication added that this is the second foldable laptop to be launched in the market, and the first is the ThinkPad X1 Fold, which was launched in September 2020.

It looks like OLED may always be the benchmark for devices in this category going forward, likely due to the quality and durability. OLED displays are often used in their foldable smartphone counterparts.

The Zenbook 17 Fold OLED also features an Intel Core i7-1250U processor, 16GB of RAM, a 75Wh battery, Thunderbolt 4 ports, and WiFi 6E connectivity.

Currently, the foldable laptop pricing details are not available; However, don’t expect it to be cheap. For reference, the smaller 13.3-inch Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold sold for $2,500 when it was released.

The availability of Zenbook 17 Fold OLED for Europe and North America remains uncertain at this time.

While Asus’ Zenbook 17 Fold OLED will be announced soon, there are still many foldable laptops out there still in concepts and rumors. Samsung also showed off its foldable laptop called Flex Note at CES 2022. It flattens as a 17-inch screen and folds into a 13-inch setup. However, nothing else has been revealed about this device.

Reports from industry experts, including Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) analyst Ross Young, indicate that Apple is planning a foldable laptop with a 20-inch screen and 4K resolution or higher. Sources said Apple is looking to introduce a “new product category” for foldable laptops with its hardware. However, the company is in no hurry, and it is likely that this product will not be released until 2026 or 2027.
