Pobega reveals feelings after the renovation and why he was infatuated with Maignan

Tommaso Pobega has revealed his feelings after signing an extension to his contract with Milan, thus securing his long-term future at the club.

Pobega spent last season on loan in Turin after being at Spezia in 2020-21 and did well with Granata, playing multiple roles in midfield throughout the season under Ivan Juric. Now back to base, Milan management wanted to show how much they believed in him.

Milan confirmed on their official website that Boubiga had done so Signed renewal with the club until 2027. The previous deal was due to expire in 2025 and the new deal is also expected to include a significant wage increase.

Speaking on Milan TV, Boubiga spoke about his feelings after putting pen to paper as well as past loan spells, his Azorean ambitions and what the future holds.

“A lot of feelings, I want to do well, I want to play and get better. It’s been so many years since I got here, and every year I use it to grow and improve myself to take some satisfaction from this shirt,” he said (via SempreMilan.it).

On his experience in Turin: “Last year I was fortunate enough to go to Turin where I found a good environment and a good coach who gave me confidence and allowed me to promote in the first division.”

In the national team: “Playing for the national team is always a passion. Playing against Germany was great, being in the Azzurri shirt is an emotion that is hard to explain and I have goals to achieve with Italy too.”

On Tonali and his other teammates: “I have a good relationship with Tonali, we have known each other since last year and I am happy to play with him. The group made a very positive impression on me: there is a desire to work and improve. In the last year I have seen him grow a lot also in terms of awareness.”

On his fascination with Minyan: “The player I wanted to see closely is Minyan, I was touched when I saw him arrive in Milan and I was curious to see how influential he is also in terms of charisma. I must say that he is just as I expected.”

What Pewley taught him: “Last year, before going on loan, I spoke to the coach who told me it was the right choice because I would have a chance to grow and work to come back. Pioli is a great coach and I will have to follow his teachings in order to improve.”

On his goal of growth: “My goal every year is growth, every year we can improve. Obviously we want to get rid of some satisfaction as a group and individually. Fortunately, I want to keep my goals to myself.”
