Report: Manchester United makes a “surprising inquiry” to Bayern Munich star Leroy Sane

There has been some grumbling that Manchester United are interested in Bayern Munich star Leroy Sane, but now things may get more serious according to The Mirror:

Manchester United have made a surprise inquiry into the readiness of former Manchester City winger Leroy Sane, as coach Eric Ten Hag continues to assess his attacking options.

(Ten Hag) is still hoping to consolidate his options and Sane’s status at Bayern Munich means he is an important player. Ten Hag has been looking for a move for Ajax winger Anthony but the Dutch giants don’t want to lose another big name against United having already seen Tin Hag and Lisandro Martinez make their way to the North West.

And while they could still get a deal for Antony across the line, other options including Sané are being considered. Sane’s experience in the Premier League means he will adapt quite a bit to a return to the top flight, and of course the fact that he is a four-time title winner – twice with City and twice with Bayern – is also attractive.

Interestingly, Liverpool was also listed as a potential destination for Sane in the report, but as of now, Manchester United appear to be much closer to making an offer at Bayern Munich.

In addition to the report from The Mirror, journalist Manuel Feith chimes in with his own information, which did not completely drop the assertion that Bayern Munich would be reluctant to part with Sane:

BFW . analysis

Despite his current status as a bench player, Bayern Munich is still likely to be willing to part with Sane for now.

The Germany international still has the potential to break into Julian Nagelsmann’s starting line-up, but the competition is fierce. Thomas Muller, Sadio Mane, Kingsley Coman, Serge Gnabry, Jamal Musiala, Paul Waner, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Mathis Till and Gabriel Vidovic are vying for time in attack, which could become an issue over the course of this season. .

As for Sane, one has to wonder how long he will be fine with being a player on the bench during the height of his career. The information from Faith’s source isn’t entirely surprising given how likely Sane feels he should be in the starting lineup on a permanent basis.

Are there too many talents on one list? To many observers, that probably seems like a good problem. However, whether Sunny and Nagelsmann will continue to feel this way in the coming months is up for debate.
