Starting lineup, Sunday race TV broadcast schedule

Tyler Riddick’s first NASCAR Cup Series win this past weekend at Rhode America surprised no one. The RCR driver has been running at the front for a good part of the season and is a good racer on the road.

But what it does in the form of a cup series match is tighten up the wild card race. Thirteen drivers have so far won a race, leaving three places to non-winners in qualifying with eight races remaining in the regular season.

It’s a fun part of the summer schedule that has changed over the past two years. This week in Atlanta, the circuit will see if the 1.5-mile track package races will continue after the spring race. After that, the remaining races include a short track, two road laps, two oval tracks over two miles, the one-mile New Hampshire Motor Speedway, and the end of the regular season at Daytona.
