Police: The prime suspect is Butler Top. Shooting left Ohio, four victims were released

TWP Butter. – Update @6pm:

At a news conference on Saturday afternoon, Butler Township Police Chief John Porter gave an update on the investigation into the shooting.

Members of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, FBI, Vandalia Police Department and Superintendent of Vandalia Butler Schools.

Porter offered his condolences to the families of the four victims and recognized them.

Eva and Clyde Knox were found dead in their home on Hardwicke Place, Porter shared. Shortly after Porter’s statement, Sarah Anderson and her daughter Kayla were also found dead.

Kayla was a student at Vandalia Butler High School.

Supervisor Robert O’Leary said the district mourned the loss of Kayla and described her as friendly to many, kind and “a ray of light”.

O’Leary said chaplains, youth ministers and therapists will be available to students who need them.

Porter said investigators were aware of a video of Stephen Marlowe circulating on social media that was said to have been taken after the shooting. They did not disclose details of the video, which they described as “disturbing”.

He said investigators believe Marlowe went on I-70, traveled west and left Ohio. Neighboring countries have been alerted, Porter said.

Porter ended the conference by asking Marlowe to turn himself in and that the investigators were here to help him.

Police reminded the public not to approach Marlowe and call 911 or 1-800-CALL-FBI if they think they have located him.
