The 38-year-old will have a chance to recover in the remaining races of the 2022 season and finish well. He is in a position where he has nothing to lose: he can only transfer what he learned from this season to the next.
In a recent media interview, Eric Almerola stated that he will use the remaining races as an opportunity to prepare himself for the 2023 season and work hard on it. He also admitted that this season has been a learning experience for him and the Stewart-Haas Racing team.
“We’re working really hard in 2023. In the last six races before qualifying, we’ve been really trying to work things out and get into race cars that we felt were capable of running from seventh to twelfth and hopefully we’ll make that missing the ingredient to get to where we want to be. Because we’re out of playoffs, we really took advantage of this opportunity to swing on fences on things out of the box which is also a huge learning curve for our organization.”
Eric Almerola record at Texas Motor Speedway
The 2022 Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 500 is set to debut this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway, and Eric Almerola will be on his way to represent Stewart Haas Racing in his No. 10 Smithfield Ford Mustang.
Last weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway he started from pole position and led the first 36 laps. However, unfortunately, he exited early in the race after having a steering problem with 82 laps remaining.
Eric Almerola will be back on the track this weekend, with a decent track record. He made 21 appearances in the Cup Series at Texas Motor Speedway, finished fifth and five in the top 10, and finished 12th in the All-Star race earlier this season. It will be interesting to see what the price of the number 10 Ford driver will be this weekend.
