Los Angeles Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar holds the record for the most points in NBA history, scoring 38,387 points during his 20 impressive seasons in the NBA.

Fellow Lakers legend LeBron James is fast approaching him. Currently, he got 1,326 points from overtaking Abdul-Jabbar. James is likely to break the record sometime during the 2022-23 NBA season.

Who scored the most points in the NBA in the 1980s?

Alex English holds the record for the most points in the 1980s with 21,018 points. He starred with the Denver Nuggets throughout the decade, leading the league by scoring 28.4 points per game during the 1982-83 season. The English also had eight consecutive All-Star appearances in the 1980s.

Moses Malone finished second in the decade with 19,082 points. His career best averaged 31.1 points per game during the 1981-82 season with the Houston Rockets. For NBA results, the 1980s were the glory years for high-score games across the Union.

The Detroit Pistons dropped 186 points in an additional three-time win over the Denver Nuggets again in 1983-84. Denver also scored 184 goals.

Detroit had three players who scored 35 or more points in the game, led by Pro Basketball Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas (47) and John Long (41). Denver led Kiki Vandeweghe with 51 points, while Alex English lost 47 points.

As for the regulation game, the 1990-1991 Phoenix Suns put together 173 points in a landslide victory over Denver. Five different players scored 20 or more points, led by then-rookie Cedric Ceballos with 32 points from the bench.

Phoenix’s 173 points match an earlier organizational record set by the Boston Celtics against the then-Minneapolis Lakers during the 1958-59 season. Tom Heinson topped all scorers with 43 points. The great Bob Cousy added 31. As a side note, the 1958-59 Celtics won their first eight consecutive championships, creating the greatest dynasty in sports history.

Who scored 100 points in an NBA game?

60 years ago, Wilt Chamberlain set a record that has stood the test of time. Back on March 2, 1962 in Hershey, Pennsylvania, Chamberlain dropped 100 points for the Philadelphia Warriors against the New York Knicks.

This came in a 169-147 victory over New York. Chamberlain hit 36 ​​out of 63 shots while he was 28 of 32 free throws. For good measure, he added 25 rebounds. Interestingly enough, this was also the last regular season game for the Pennsylvania Warriors before moving west.

Since Chamberlain’s record-setting performance, the late Kobe Bryant has come close to matching Wilt. He lost 81 points against the Toronto Raptors again in January of 2006.

Which NBA game has scored the lowest points in history?

Back in November of 1950, the Fort Wayne Pistons defeated the NBA champion Minneapolis Lakers 19-18. The combined 37 points remain the lowest in NBA history. Lakers star George Mikan led all scorers with 15 points.

The Pistons led John Oldham with five points. In the hour before filming, the two met on just 31 attempted shots. The Lakers won despite shooting in only four of his field goals.
