The husband was completely furious after being forced to carry his luggage in a shopping bag to the stag desk at the airport because the lady had hidden his bag. And based on his reaction, it definitely wasn’t the best way to start the holiday:
A grumpy holiday goer, Darren Carrier, showed up at Newcastle Airport yesterday morning (September 22) ahead of the boys’ holiday in Benidorm, Spain, carrying a reusable suitcase full of his belongings.
Apparently his wife Julie decided to hide his bag the night before after he left it until the last minute to tell her he was going to a deer the next day.
It’s safe to say that Jolie didn’t take the news very well.
As shown in the clip above, Darren’s colleague, Gromit Mason, who captured the footage, told him, “You can’t get on a plane with that, Darren.”
Darren replied, “I’m the king I can, I hid my bag, the mad cow.”
Gromit continues to take p*ss, saying, “You have a bag for life.”
Husband replied: “I did, I’ll pack it up when I get home.”
“Do you get a divorce?” Gromit jokes.
Darren quickly replied, “Yes.”
It got worse for the board worker as the airport staff told him that his “luggage” was not suitable for the flight.
Out of pure desperation, Darren manages to find a torn Louis Vuitton bag in the trash to stick his clothes in.
As he fills the bag with his personal belongings, the handle gives way completely and Darren’s companion can’t help but tear into it.
The video has since gone viral, with Gromit commenting on TikTok: “Only in Benidorm.”
Speaking on Thursday (September 22), Gromet said: “His wife had gone to Benidorm with the girls at the hen party a few weeks ago.
“We were going this week looking for a stag, and Darren thought his wife would be fine, but he only told her the night before.
“So he came to the airport with that and we didn’t believe it, but he just said she had hidden his bag.
“Ryanair staff were saying they couldn’t let him on the plane though because his pants and socks could fall off and land on someone.
“He was terrified and didn’t know what to do but we found a Louis Vuitton bag in the trash and we threw his things in it and luckily they let him pass.
“We were just glad he passed customs but it was funny, I think even the staff were trying not to laugh at times when they were saying he couldn’t use the bag for life.
“We were all in bits, laughing apart and he was sweating, it was comical.
“It was touch and go Darren but we made the trip and can enjoy the stag now.”
The video has been viewed over 890,000 times with 45,000 likes and over 500 comments.
“This airport bag shop is finally like our first customer,” one user joked, while another added, “Only in Newcastle.”
A third commented, “I’m totally curly, I love it.”
While another person said, “I don’t know why I went to buy the bag and not the passport.”
One recent user thought: “Always wondering why there are luggage stores at airports.”
