The US men’s national team faces Japan on Friday, September 23rd. The match will be broadcast live on DirecTV (Free Trial) and fuboTV (Free Trial).

The match is just two months before the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The Asian powerhouse Japan is one of six teams to qualify for Qatar, is ranked 24th in the world and is competing in the seventh consecutive World Cup finals. Friday’s match is the third meeting between the US and Japan ever, and only the second against Asian rivals during coach Greg Berhalter’s tenure.

Since the initial announcement of the USMNT roster, three changes have been made. Midfielder Johnny Cardoso was added to the squad after Younes Moussa was diagnosed with a minor thigh injury. Midfielders Mark McKenzie and Eric Palmer-Brown have been called up after quarterbacks Cameron Carter Vickers and Chris Richards were injured.
