The second edition of Zenith Tech Fair, themed “Future Forward 2.0”, will take place on Tuesday 22nd November and Wednesday 23rd November 2022, at the Eko Convention Centre, Eko Hotels & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, starting at 8.00. daily until 6.00 am.
Conceived in the mold of global technology events such as the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and EmTech Asia, the exhibition will showcase leading technological innovations covering various aspects of life, such as Artificial Intelligence, Computing, Machine Learning, Blockchain, Robotics, Big Data, Technology Finance, augmented reality, data analytics, 5G and communication technologies, among others. The event will also include Hackathon sessions to identify innovative startups, panel discussions, master classes and exhibitions.
The two-day exhibition will feature a welcome address by Jim Ovia, CFR, Founder and Chairman of Zenith Bank and opening remarks by Ebenezer Onyeagwu, Group Managing Director of Zenith Bank Plc and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Banks, Nigeria. The keynote address, “The Future of Banking: A Journey of Digital Transformation,” is delivered by Brett King, celebrated futurist, best-selling author, award-winning speaker, founder of Moven, and author of Bank 4.0. Other notable IT practitioners representing top global brands will be giving presentations. These include; Tarik Alatović, Senior Partner, McKinsey; Juliette Ehimowan, West Africa Director, Google; Ola Williams, Regional Director, Microsoft Inc. ; Andrew Owaboye, Vice President/President, Visa West Africa; Ms. Ruqayyah Muhammad, Director of Information Technology, CBN; Chris Lu, General Manager, Huawei Technologies Nigeria, and Dame (Dr) Adaora Umeoji, SorryDeputy Managing Director of Zenith Bank Plc, among others.
The exhibition will include three panel discussions. The first session, which will examine “The Future of Payments: What’s Next and How We Can Get There”, was hosted by Professor Yinka David West of the Lagos Business School, with four participants, including Agada Abuchi, Managing Director of UPSL; Olu Akanmo, General Manager, Opay; PM Oyeoh, MD, NIBBS; and Kari Tukur, V/P & Head of Products, East/West Africa, MasterCard.
The second session will explore the topic “What are the main challenges of digital transformation in the financial industry? How do we solve them?”. It will be hosted by Brett King and has four panelists, including Tosin Inyolorunda, General Manager, TeamApt; Obi Emitarum, General Manager, Appzone; Babatunde Oprema, COO, FintechNGR; and Olugbenga Agboola, Founder/CEO of Flutterwave.
The third panel discussion is entitled “Driving the Global Trade Revolution with Technology: Current Transformation Trends”. The panel, which will be hosted by Samuel Eze, Founder/CEO of Ourpass, and will consist of five panellists, including Mike Ogbalu III, Managing Director, PAPSS; Achim Lawal, CEO, Interswitch; Massimiliano Spallazi, Regional Director, Jumia; and Dr. Uzumina Nnagi, Director of Trade and Exchange, CBN.
The first edition of Zenith Tech Fair was held on November 27, 2019, at Landmark Events Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos. Tagged ‘Future Forward’ the fair has a hackathon that has produced ten winners, including Octave Analytics Limited, which won the N10m grand prize; Neohaul Technologies, first runner-up for the N6m Award; and reQuid Technologies, the second runner-up who won N5m. Other N1m winners each include Termii, Xcard Nigeria Limited, Payonhold, Escrow Inc, Alerzo, Nairapacket and Qview.ai.
