The Hall of Famer revealed a story in an episode of Dale Jr.’s Download. He, Amy and their daughter were on the beach and his wife felt a sharp sting in her foot. Knowing an apocryphal theory of how to treat jellyfish stings, Dale Jr. sprang into action.

He said, “She was in so much pain, and she said it worked right away. She was in pain! No, no, no. You can’t underestimate the pain of a jellyfish sting. You can’t underestimate this. We have these flat chairs on the floor, okay? So I dug a hole in the sand in front of me.” , and stuck her foot in. I didn’t even have to move. I peed on her foot, and then filled the hole.”
