Joel Dahmen’s own rule with his caddy on the PGA Tour ‘drives him crazy’

PGA Tour star Joel Dahmen conducted a Q&A on Twitter on Monday allowing his biggest fans to send in their best questions for him to answer.

During his Q&A, Dahmen confirmed that he and his wife Lona are expecting their first child in January and that his next Tour appearance will be at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am because of this.

Now that his friend Max Homma is a father, he’s been asked if he can become “Unstoppable” on tour. Homa was one of the hottest players in 2022 winning the Wells Fargo tournament and the Fortinet tournament.

Dahmen replied, “He was before. Afraid of what he might do with the new power gained. I can assure you he won’t get a father any time soon.”

One of the most interesting responses he gave was to @HMcwedge who asked, “Does GenoBonnalie have a course veto when you want to try something superficial?”

Geno Bonnalie is a stagecoach Dahmen and is known for documenting his travel and sojourn exploits on the Tour. At an AT&T Pro-Am earlier this year, he posted a photo of a small room he shared with three other cans.

Dahmen revealed, “1 a week. He’s usually right and it drives me crazy.” As we can see from other partnerships on the course such as Jordan Spieth, Michael Griller, Justin Thomas and Jim “Bones” McKay, caddies play extremely important roles in decision making and strategy.

Dahmen and Bonali have blossomed on the tour in recent weeks. The 35-year-old couldn’t quite manage his second career title, but he did record three consecutive top-10 titles.

During last week’s RSM Classic, which was won by Adam Svensson, Dahmen admitted that fear of “getting a job” motivates him to keep his Tour card he could lose in 2023 now that the winner’s exemption has expired.

“I’ve been playing with fear ever since, really, ever since I got my tour card. I’m scared to death of getting a job. I haven’t actually had one,” Dahmen said.

“A very good place financially with family right now and I don’t — I mean, I don’t want to give this up. It’s one of the most desirable things in all of sports is a PGA Tour card. Yeah, I just don’t want to give this up.”
