Phil Mickelson will play at the Valero, Texas Open

organizers Valero Texas Open Championship announced a commitment from one of golf’s greatest players, Phil Mickelson, For the event scheduled for April 1-4 at Saint Anthony.

Mickelson, a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame and winner of 44 career PGA Tour titles, will compete at the Valero Texas Open for the first time since playing three consecutive years, 2014-2016. His best finish came in 2015 when he tied for 30th. A five-time major championship winner, Mickelson won the Masters Tournament in 2004, 2006 and 2010. He won the PGA Championship in 2005 and the Open Championship in 2013.

In addition to, Davis Love III, another member of the World Golf Hall of Fame, is a two-time US Ryder Cup captain and 1997 PGA Championship winner. He has won 21 times on the PGA Tour. He and Mickelson have captured 55 career titles on tour.

Other major heroes committing today are Lucas Gloverwho won the 2009 US Open Championship and Keegan Bradleywinner of the 2011 PGA Championship.

These four add to an already impressive group of great champions who are part of a field of 144 players. This group of major champions has amassed a total of 19 titles across the Masters Tournament, PGA Championship, US Open and The Open Championship. Others include Vijay SinghAnd the Charles SchwartzlAnd the Jim Furyk, Danny Willett, Henrik StensonAnd the Jason DufnerAnd the Padraig Harrington And the Jimmy Walker.

With a primary focus on the health and well-being of the community and all tournament participants, the spectator and sponsor experience at the event has been reimagined to ensure all state and local safety protocols and the PGA TOUR are observed. Enhanced spectator hospitality experiences will be outdoors, provide ample space for social distancing, and allow for intimate viewing while taking advantage of miles of front row seats throughout the golf course, along the rope line.
