HARVARD, IL – DECEMBER 8: J.D. Byrne rides in a wagon with a Christmas tree that his family cut down at Benn’s Christmas Tree Farm on December 8, 2003 in Harvard, Illinois.
Maybe it’s the love I have for him Christmas holiday (Because, obviously, this movie will make you romanticize getting a Christmas tree.) Or Taylor Swift Christmas Tree Farm It’s stuck in my head as I write this. But something always seemed magical to me about driving through the snow picking out the most perfect trees. Instead, my holiday tradition, which I still love because it’s such a good one, involves a lot of malls. That doesn’t mean I can’t dream about what it would be like, frozen eyes closed and all, to cut down my own Christmas tree. In hindsight, the fact that a saw should not be trusted may be a deterrent. But if you want to cut your own Christmas tree in North Carolina, there are many options.
These include deep in the mountains, or closer to home near Charlotte. This is definitely a family affair. Most of the 13 options listed below include Christmas trees (of course). But they also have Santa, hot chocolate, hayrides, shopping, and other activities. So if you think you’ll drive for hours to spend 20 minutes finding a tree only to turn around to go home, think again. You can also easily spend a weekend in some of these destinations. So maybe it’s time to make some new family traditions this year and skip the Walmart trees. Check out 13 places to cut your own Christmas tree right here in North Carolina! (Okay, technically a couple from South Carolina but we stay away from Charlotte!).
