2023 Caps Canine Calendar is now available

The Washington Capitals announced Wednesday that the 2023 Dog Calendar is now available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting Wolf Trap Animal Rescue (WTAR) and the Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation. The calendar costs $20 and is available for purchase online, at the Team Store, merchandise kiosks at Capital One Arena, and at the Team Store at the MedStar Capitals Iceplex.

The 2023 Capitals Canine calendar features photos of Capitals players Connor Brown, John Carlson, Lars Eller, Garnet Hathaway, Nick Jensen, Darcy Kuemper, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Charlie Lindgren, Anthony Mantha, Connor McMichael, TJ Oshie, Alex Ovechkin, Conor Sheary, and Dylan playing with their dogs. Nic Dowd, Trevor van Riemsdyk, and Tom Wilson with their dogs and puppies from Wolf Trap Animal Rescue; and Niklas Backstrom, Martin Vervary, Erik Gustafsson, Karl Hagelin, Matt Irwin, Lukas Johansen, Marcus Johansson, Dimitri Orlov, Aliaksi Protas, and Joe Snuffley with dogs from Wolf Trap Animal Rescue. Biscuit, the Capitals’ service dog in training, is also featured on the calendar.

Absolutely adorable.

Paige Dowd, Annie van Riemsdyk, and Taylor Wilson served as the calendar’s artistic directors. MSE and Capitals have donated nearly $600,000 to local animal shelters through the sale of Caps Canine Calendars since 2012.

Founded in 2015, Wolf Trap Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the primary mission of operating a rescue, transportation, and adoption program for life-saving animals. These transportations operate weekly, ferrying hundreds of homeless puppies and kittens from Mississippi to adoptive homes in Northern Virginia. Relocating these pets helps prevent shelter overcrowding and unnecessary euthanasia—providing these pets’ only hope for finding a home. Once transferred to WTAR’s foster program in Northern Virginia, rescued pets are provided with all the necessary veterinary care and training they need until they find their perfect forever home through WTAR’s adoption program. Since 2015, Wolf Trap Animal Rescue has rescued and adopted nearly 12,000 homeless pets in need.

As previously mentioned, the calendar costs $20 and is available for purchase online, at the Team Store and merchandise kiosks at Capital One Arena, and at the Team Store at the MedStar Capitals Iceplex.
