bulls vs. Bucks – NBA Game Recap – November 24, 2022

Milwaukee — DeMar DeRozan scored 36 points and eight assists as the Chicago Bulls beat the Milwaukee Bucks 118-113 on Wednesday night.

Chicago started the week with a 6-10 record and lost four straight but has now defeated the two best teams in the NBA. The Bulls ended Boston’s nine-game winning streak on Monday.

“We’ve had some bad moments, we’ve lost consecutive games, we’ve lost games that we feel we should have won. We get our butts home,” DeRozan said. “We’ve been through a lot of emotions already, 20 games into the season. Sometimes, this is helpful. You have to soak in that hurt.”

Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic scored 18 points each, while Kobe White finished with 14.

Giannis Antetokounmo scored 36 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists for the Bucks, who lost for only the second time in 11 home games this season. Brook Lopez scored 20 points, Gro Holiday had 14 points and had 11 assists.

The Bucks made 20 turnovers that led to 17 points for the Bulls.

“They’re a really useful team and they really pack the paint,” said Holiday.

Milwaukee led 109-106 before White made a tying 3-pointer with 1:15 left. After Antetokounmpo was called to charge, White took a pass from DeRozan and buried 3 more to put the Bulls ahead to stay.

“My teammates trusted me. I was just trying to help us win,” White said.

Bucks turned the ball around after possession, finding Deruzan Vucevic, who took a corner kick 3.

The Bucks have won 17 of their previous 19 games, including the playoffs, over their Central Division rivals.

“I’m happy with the way we competed. Milwaukee is a great team. They’re champs,” said Bulls coach Billy Donovan. “It’s a great measuring stick but it’s only one game.”

LaVine said the team should focus on consistency.

“We can play against anyone and we can beat anyone but we have to have the same mentality in every game,” he said. “Hopefully, we can start realizing and accumulating these gains.”

Antetokounmo was limited to eight points on 4-of-11 shooting in the first half. He scored 11 points in the third quarter, but the Bulls held a seven-point advantage heading into the fourth.

The Bulls built a 10-point fourth quarter lead before the Bucks struggled to tie it up midway through the period.

Milwaukee led by as many as 12 in the second quarter before Chicago rallied. The buzzer-hitting jumper on holiday gave the Bucks a 62-61 halftime advantage.
