Guide to betting on Dallas Cowboys and NFL Thanksgiving games

Thanksgiving brings with it many traditions, from gathering with friends and family to eating one’s favorite dishes. There is also the annual ritual that football fans celebrate at the NFL Thanksgiving games.

The tradition began in the 1930s hosting Detroit Lions games, and expanded to the Dallas Cowboys three decades later. A third game was added to the Thanksgiving slate in 2006, giving football fans – and sports betting enthusiasts – even more to tune in to.

Individuals can place legal sports bets in over 30 states, and while Texas is not one of them, the Louisiana border is just a short drive from Houston. So how can bettors get involved in the NFL Thanksgiving event? Here’s a look at the traditional pot lines and first-scorer favorites for Thursday’s games that include the Lions, Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, New York Giants, New England Patriots and Minnesota Vikings.

All odds in the DraftKings Sportsbook are listed at -110 as of Wednesday night (eg, a $110 bet will pay $100), unless otherwise noted.
