The final edition of “The Match” is set for December 10, when four of the PGA Tour’s biggest stars head to the Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida.
Tiger Woods – in his third appearance – teams up with good friend and world class friend Rory McIlroy and will take on familiar American duo Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth in a 12-hole match.
Here are the betting odds for the seventh fixture of The Match featuring Woods and McIlroy against Thomas and Spieth on December 1.
Odds of winning the match
|Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth||-120|
|Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy||+100|
Odds courtesy of DraftKings as of November 24, 2022.
Favorite to win the match
The dynamic duo of Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth opened as 120 favorites to win this edition of the match. There may be no two golfers more familiar with each other than JT and Spieth, having played countless Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup matches as a pair to incredible success.
Despite Rory McIlroy’s hot form and world number one, it’s been a while since we’ve seen him play Tiger Woods (he missed out on The Open Championship) and he’s probably the weakest link of the four at the moment. As such, the pairing is listed as a +100 minor underdog.
When will the match take place?
The match takes place on Saturday, December 10th at 6:00 PM ET, with live coverage of the event on TNT.
Where is the match taking place?
The match takes place at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida. The course plays 70 Par up to 7,000 yards and was built with Donald Ross’ original design in mind. The course is also hosting the Women’s Pelican Tournament (November 10-13 this year).
What is the format of the match?
The formula hasn’t been announced yet, but it’s expected to be the ultimate (shy) ball game.
