Best NASCAR Cup Series odds

Favorite: Chase Elliott (+200)

Elliott was the best driver in the NASCAR Cup Series this year and the numbers back him up.

The No. 9 car ranks first in some of the most important statistics that track driver performance. Elliott leads the way in wins (five), driver rating average (98.7), pass quality (2,327) and average running position (11).

The 26-year-old ranks first in laps (803) and fifth in fastest laps (402).

Elliott has been inconsistent lately, however, and has loosened his grip on the lead a bit. He finished 20th in Charlotte, 21st in Las Vegas, and 14th in Miami.

His performance this year put him third in the Cup Series standings with 4,093 season points and first in playoff points with 46. He’s tied for first with 19 points inside the top ten while also winning six stages to date, tied with Kyle Larson, Joey Logano and Ross Chastain is in second place.

Other options for the NASCAR Cup Series

Best value: Joey Logano (+255)

Logano collects points with the best of them and remains a solid bet for those looking to fade Elliott.

The 32-year-old has earned at least 25 points in 10 of his last 13 races, and has had seven top-10 finishes over that span. He ran 17 races without a win before finally getting the checkered flag in Las Vegas.

Logano ranks first with 4,106 season points and 26 playoff points. He hasn’t racked up as many top fives and top tens as his contemporaries, but he is fifth with 597 laps to go and tied for third with six wins.

The veteran seems to be catching hot at the perfect time.

Driver to Watch: Ross Chastain (400+)

The past two weeks have done wonders for Chastain’s chances of winning the Cup Series.

The No. 1 car earned 80 points by taking a pair of second-place finishes at Las Vegas and Miami. He’s now collected five top-ten finishes over the last seven races, which explains why his winning odds have shortened from +600 to +400.

Chastain ranks second in the season with 4,101 points and sits third in playoff points with 21 points. He has accumulated 242 points in his last seven races.

The 29-year-old has more five-place finishes (13) than any driver and is tied for the pole position with 19 top-10 finishes. He can push himself near the front of the pack if he continues to have the same success.
