Titans Super Bowl 57 odds: Tennessee is out of the top 10

What are the Titans’ chances of winning Super Bowl 57?

Their chances aren’t far off by any means, but Tennessee has to count on league rushing leader Derrick Henry to keep beating the opposition, QB Ryan Tannehill to stay healthy, and the defense’s 10th-ranked in sacks – led by Jeffrey Simmons – to continue to be gritty.

It will also be necessary for Deniko Autry to return from a knee injury that will keep him out of action this week at home against the Cincinnati Bengals in a rematch of last year’s Divisional Round win by the Bengals.

Also, it would be in the Titans’ best interest if they could avoid facing Buffalo in the postseason. In Week 2, the host Bills cruised to a 41-7 victory, the second most lopsided score in a game of the season. Henry was held to 25 rushing yards on 13 carries, his lowest yardage production in four years.

Although the Titans ranked 30th in passing yards per game at 165.4 on a walk, that average has fallen largely thanks (or wasn’t it thanks?) to the two games that rookie QB Malik Willis started in place of an injured Tannehill . Willis only produced 135 yards of air in those appearances.

Tannehill, the league’s seventh passer, averaged 210.7 in his eight starts and just returned WR Treylon Burks, a first-round option, from a toe/toe injury after missing four games. He gained 111 yards last week in the windswept mid-teens in Green Bay.

One of the Titans’ other losses was 20-17 in overtime in Kansas City three weeks earlier. That defeat contained doses of good news in that the Titans played the role of powerhouse heads, bye-bye, right down to the wire with Willis in charge. The defense stopped QB Patrick Mahomes in his second-worst passer-rated game of the season and sacked him a season-high four times.

If Willis had to step in again, ah! He was 5-for-16 passing for 80 yards against the Chiefs’ 31st-ranked pass defense and has not thrown a pass since.

What are the odds of the South Asian titans winning?

Tennessee is the third heaviest favorite among division leaders at -1100 (BetMGM).

The Southern Titans are not closely followed by the Jacksonville Jaguars, who are ages 3-7, with a probability of +1400 (FanDuel).

Even if the second-place Indianapolis Colts (4-6-1) win, the Titans will have to go just 4-3 along the way to clinch their third straight division title.

AFC South analysis

Before the season started, the title race was supposed to be between Indianapolis and Tennessee, with the Colts having odds of +110 right before the season started and the Titans at +130. Jacksonville (+700) and Houston Texans (+2500) were expected to be just afterthoughts. And they were.

But Indy faltered early and often, fired his head coach, and basically fell out of the playoff picture.

Titans player props

NFL MVP: RB Derrick Henry (+15,000 bet)

Henry is already the league’s rushing leader, but over the past nine seasons, only quarterbacks have won the award. The only other non-QB listed ahead of him on this year’s odds chart is Miami WR Tyreek Hill at +10,000.

Minnesota’s Adrian Peterson was the last RB to win the award in 2012.

FYI: Tannehill is available at +50,000 at Caesars Sportsbook.

Most rushing yards: RB Derrick Henry (+250 FanDuel)

In this category, Henry is a favorite.

He was also the sprint champion in 2019 and 2020 and was on his way to a third consecutive championship last season before suffering a foot injury.

His closest competitor on the yardage chart is New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley, who trails 57 yards.

NFL Defensive Player of the Year: Jeffrey Simmons (+10,000 BetMGM, FanDuel)

Simmons, the anchor of the inside defensive line, has 6.5 sacks and stands in a tie for ninth-shortest odds on the pot boards.

Micah Parsons of Dallas is the frontrunner at -310 (Kings of the Draft).
