Next year will be full of poetry moments.

If the expectation is too much for you, we’ve got a sneak peek at what some of those things might be like — thanks to expert insights.

From embracing recommendations with more confidence to more daring ‘edits’ with cuts, next year’s hair trends are all about making statements.

From cuts to styling, these are the top hair looks to watch out for and try.

wet hair

“Wet hair was a great feeling that I saw a lot at SS23 shows,” says Sid Hayes, an ambassador for Babyliss.

“It always looks great but it’s hard to make a relative unless you’re on vacation.”

Less practical, but still doable, you can use gel to achieve a flat slicked back look, or spray styling milk on hair without working it all in.

‘This is a nod to the very classic Vidal Sassoon 1976 Box Bob,’ says Seed, a more brutal cut that gives immediate sharpness. I think Amelie meets Vidal.

“To create a sharp edge cut, use a straightener and get regular edges.”

With the advent of grungyer makeup, it only makes sense that hair would get a similar treatment.

Up-dos have always been around, but Syd predicts we’ll see more people go for them as a chic night-out look.

The best part? “If your hair is a little greasy, or if you need to change the look from day to night, pull it back and add an extension,” Syed adds.

“It’s so easy and it looks seriously chic.”

Deep side parting

The teen sidekick is back – but with a smarter ending.

“We all need a little twist in our lives,” Sayed says. “I see a deep side parting as slick hair.

They can range from sleek, straight glass like hair with super-shine, to voluminous curls and looks.

“My main tools for these have to be the Babyliss 9000 cordless hair straightener for a sleek, straight look and a Hydro Fusion hair dryer (using a diffuser) and a curling wand for the look of big curls.”

Any hair type can wear this look, which makes it even better.
