The new app experience is currently available to individuals applying for a USP card at AmericanExpress.com/us/credit-cards, or by contacting American Express and is not available if you apply for a card after logging into an existing Cardmember account. Here’s how it works:
- Customers interested in applying for a personal American Express card may visit AmericanExpress.com/us/credit-card to view card offers.
When applying for a select card, a simple inquiry will be made on the applicant’s credit report and applicants will be told with 100% certainty if they are approved – with no impact on their credit score.
If the approved applicant then accepts the card, a difficult inquiry will be made on his credit report, which may affect his credit score.
In the future, prospective Cardmembers will be able to access this new app experience through the websites of the co-branding partners. This app experience will also be provided to our existing Cardmembers who apply for another Personal Card.
