NBA Injury Report, November 23: Updates on Bradley Beal, Jason Tatum, Kawhi Leonard, Pam Adebayo, and more

We have a loaded slate of 12 NBA games Wednesday, with the league not set to play any games on Thanksgiving. Here’s a look at Wednesday’s injury report, along with related fantasy and betting impacts.

NBA Injury Report: November 23

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Charlotte Hornets

Joel Embiid (ft.) – Out
Matisse Thybulle (ankle) – outside
Tobias Harris (ankle) – Available

Modernization – Thybulle is out but Harris is on the 76ers. It might be wise to back the forward for another big game because he’s the best attacking option for Philadelphia.

Embiid is still out, while Thybulle is not officially confirmed. Harris suffered an ankle injury on Tuesday but is back in action. The Sixers may choose to stop him as a precaution on the second night of a straight set.

LaMelo ball (ankle) – out

The ball stays out, which means Terry Rozier and Dennis Smith Jr. will get plenty of minutes in the backcourt.

Portland Trail Blazers vs Cleveland Cavaliers

Josh Hart (ankle) – Available

Modernization – Hart is for the Blazers.

Hart is expected to play and be a good value-add with Damian Lillard on the sidelines.

Caris LeVert (ankle) – out
Kevin Love (thumb) – out

Modernization – Love is ruled out tonight.

Lamar Stephens got the nod last time Levert sat out and we’ll likely see him in the starting lineup again on Wednesday. If Love sits down, Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley are gaining some value in the fantasy/DFS formats.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Indiana Pacers

Kyle Anderson (again) – Available

Modernization – Anderson is good to go to the Timberwolves.

If Anderson gets into this contest, Jaden McDaniels will still get key minutes for Minnesota.

Isaiah Jackson (ankle) – out

Modernization – Jackson was left out of tonight’s Pacers game.

The Pacers will rely heavily on Miles Turner and Galen Smith in the frontcourt if Jackson is sidelined. He didn’t train on Tuesday, so things aren’t looking great in terms of his availability.

Sacramento Kings vs Atlanta Hawks

De’Andre Hunter (ill) – Available

Modernization – The hunter’s like a hawk as expected.

Hunter is a valuable game when he’s on the spin, as he gets a lot of looks with a high percentage and helps with the glass as well. Jalen Johnson will get more runs if Hunter is unexpectedly eliminated.

Dallas Mavericks vs Boston Celtics

Spencer Dinwiddie (shoulder) – Available
Maxi Clipper (rear) – out

Modernization – Kleber is out, making Wood a nice filler in the DFS formations. Dinwiddie is in, which means he’ll be taking some chances away from the likes of Bullock and Hardaway Jr.

If Dinwiddie doesn’t play, Reggie Bullock and Tim Hardaway Jr. will be in line for more shots. With Kleber still likely to sit out, Christian Wood will feature heavily in the Fantasy/DFS line-ups.

Jason Tatum (Ankle) – Available

Modernization – Tatum is on the Celtics team and will have no strings attached.

Jaylen Brown and Malcolm Brogdon will take bigger roles in Boston’s offense if Tatum is left out.

Washington Wizards vs. Miami Heat

Bradley Bell (Quartet) – Out
Monty Morris (ankle) – out
Rui Hachimura (ankle) – OUT

Modernization – This entire group has been left out, so Kispert, Barton, Porzingis and Gafford are all prime targets in the DFS lineup. Kispert represents the best value but Porzingis may ultimately offer the most output.

Corey Kisbert would likely be the starting shooting guard if Bell sat out, with Will Barton also getting minutes. Kristaps Porzingis and Daniel Gafford will have more playing time if Hachimura is left out. Jordan Goodwin would be a nice added value if he started in Morris’ place.

Bam Adebayo (knee) – Available
Jimmy Butler (knee) – out
Tyler hero (ankle) – available
Max Strauss (shoulder) – out
Duncan Robinson (ankle) – out
Gabe Vincent (knee) – Available

Modernization – Herro, Adebayo, and Vincent are all on Team Heat.

Modernization – There have been some questions about the direction of the Strauss label today. It was initially ruled out but then officially listed as questionable. Now it is officially ruled out.

On top of these injuries, Haywood Highsmith and Dewayne Dedmon also deal with issues. Adebayo should be around, while one of Herro and Strus is likely to play. It might be best to avoid betting on this match until the final injury report.

Brooklyn Nets vs Toronto Raptors

Seth Curry (Injury Management) – OUT

With Curry out, Joe Harris and Royce O’Neale have more value in DFS lineups than filler play.

Gary Trent Jr. (hip) – Available
Otto Porter Jr. (toe) – OUT
Fred VanVleet (ill) – Out
Scotty Barnes (knee) – OUT

Modernization – Well, it turns out the Raptors aren’t going to have some major players after all. Vanvleet and Barnes were scratched by an illness and a knee injury, respectively. OG Anunoby is still available and Trent Jr is but the Raptors will likely fall short on this one.

Trent Jr. is back and should start in Toronto. Porter Jr. is out, opening up more minutes for the likes of Christian Coloco, Tad Young and Scotty Barnes.

Chicago Bulls vs Milwaukee Bucks

There are no notable daily hits for either team at this time.

Denver Nuggets vs Oklahoma City Thunder

Nikola Jokic (conditioner) – Available
Jamal Murray (conditioning) – out
Hyland’s bones (disease) – out
Aaron Gordon (ill) – Available
Jeff Green (knee) – out
Michael Porter Jr. (heel) – out

Modernization – Jokic and Gordon in the Nuggets, while Murray and Porter Jr. are in the lead. Outside.

Modernization – Hyland was left out, while Jokic, Murray, and Porter Jr. were included. as questionable. At the moment, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope appears to be the only safe play in the fantasy/DFS lineups from this game.

We’ll see how the Nuggets handle this game on the second night of a back-to-back set.

New Orleans Pelicans vs San Antonio Spurs

Trey Murphy (ft.) – out
CJ McCollum (illness) – Out

Modernization – McCollum is a late scratch in tonight’s game with illness. Brandon Ingram should get more picks as a result of this absence. Jose Alvarado can stay in line for a few more minutes at point guard, too.

Modernization – Murphy is out, so Marshall and Jones are adding potential fillers in the DFS contests. Jones is the overall best choice.

With Murphy likely not playing, Nagy Marshall and Herbert Jones will take most of the minutes in the small forward position.

Jacob Bueltel (knee) – Available
Josh Richardson (ankle) – OUT

Modernization – In classic Tottenham fashion, Poillet will be around while Collins and Richardson have been left out. The big guy is a decent added value at this venue, although the showdown isn’t great with New Orleans dominating the boards this season.

Romeo Langford and Malachy Branham could run with Richardson out. Zach Collins is in line to play and could get good minutes if Poeltl sits out.

Detroit Pistons vs Utah Jazz

There are no notable daily hits for either team at this time.

Los Angeles Clippers vs. Golden State Warriors

Paul George (hamstring) – out
Kawhi Leonard (ankle) – out
Luke Kennard (Calf) – Out

With George and Leonard out, Norman Powell, Robert Covington and Nicholas Batum are likely to be the small forwards in this game. With Kennard out, Terance Mann is set to be a nice added value. Reggie Jackson might be the best referenced fantasy player on Clippers in this game.
